Gemma Arterton is a British actress. She was born on 2
February 1986 and has since been involved in many films and TV shows. She has
won several awards for her acting, including the British Independent Film Award
for Best Actress in 2007.
She is the daughter of actor James Arterton and film
producer Sally Potter, and her brother is actor Jasper Arterton. She is best
known for her work in the films: Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010),
Clash of the Titans (2010), Byzantium (2012) and Hansel and Gretel: Witch
Hunters (2013).
Arterton has won various awards during her career such as
British Independent Film Award for Best Actress for The Disappearance of Alice
Creed (2009), London Film Critics Circle Award for British Supporting Actress
of the Year for An Education (2009) and Empire Award for Best Female Newcomer
to Leading Film Roles.
Gemma Arterton studied at the Drama Centre London, then made
her professional stage debut in The V461na Monologues in 2004 before appearing
in various television productions and theatre productions including After Miss
Julie, Gemma Bovery and A Midsummer Night's Dream.
